A skiing injury to her knee followed by an extensive rehabilitation period forced Jerika Hutchinson to work on a bicycle. In the process, she embraced cycling as a sport and has become one of the promising young riders in the United States:
“…The 5-foot-6 blonde already has two junior national time trial championships to her credit and a third-place finish at the 2007 Junior World Time Trial Championships.
She also is in her first season as a pro cyclist and rides for Tibco, one of the top female pro cycling teams in the country and is in USA Cycling’s development program with her sights set on making the Summer Olympics one day, possibly as early as 2012 in London.”

She is only eighteen years old. Living in the shadow of Mount Shasta, Jerika Hutchinson is in a natural high altitude training location.
The destination for those mountain rides, and that training, is the London Olympics in 2012.
