Nastia Liukin Will Not Compete at World Championships

NastiaLiukinBeijingNastia Liukin does not feel that she is prepared to compete at the world gymnastic championships in October. She intends to complete in the 2012 Olympics but will pass on the forthcoming world championship:

“…Liukin, who competed only on balance beam at the recent national championships in Dallas and has had limited time in the gym because of endorsement appearances in the wake of her win in the 2008 women’s all-around in Beijing, said she still intends to compete for a spot on the 2012 Olympic team but is not prepared now to compete on the world level.”
