Playing field still not level
“Gender-equity legislation that became law in 1972 was supposed to put females on equal footing with males when it came to participating in sports.
“Thirty-seven years after Title IX passage, 10 out of 62 Greater Cincinnati high school athletic programs surveyed by The Enquirer this spring and summer failed to provide information demonstrating compliance with the law.
“Of the 62 schools, 23 that did provide information had female participation rates at least 10 percentage points lower than their percentage of female enrollment. . .”
