Lacey Nymeyer Named NCAA Woman of the Year

58011043Former University of Arizona swimmer Lacey Nymeyer was selected as the NCAA’s Woman of the Year. This is an award that honours the student athlete who has completed NCAA eligibility and who has excelled in both academics and athletics. The NCAA considers factors such as community service and leadership as well:

“… The 2008 Beijing Olympics silver-medal swimmer became the third UA athlete in the 19-year history of the award to be chosen: High jumper Tanya Hughes in 1993 and swimmer Whitney Myers in 2007 preceded Nymeyer.

No other Pac-10 athlete has been selected for the award.”
