Many of the people who read these pages are regular travellers. If you are a member of a sports team, you are placed at a strict disadvantage. People know when you are scheduled to be in a specific city and it is easy to find out where you will be staying. The stalking of sports reporter Erin Andrews makes that abundantly clear.
If you are a regular traveller, it is too easy to let one’s guard down. Hotel living becomes too routine. However, there are certain precautions that will help maintain privacy and security:
“… Desk clerks should never say your room number aloud when you check in. The number should be written on the card key sleeve and discreetly handed to you. You have every right to ask for a different room if the room number is announced…”
