Caster Semenya is still the reigning 800 metre champion. She will retain the win she earned at the 2009 world championship:
“… Caster Semenya will keep her gold medal, but her one-woman battle of the sexes goes on. The South African remains the 800 metres world champion and retains her $60,000 (about £36,000) prize money, but the question remains. What next?
The South African Ministry of Sport said in a statement that Semenya, who underwent sex tests both before and after winning in Berlin in August, had been found to be “innocent of any wrong”. However, that is an entirely different matter to whether she has an inter-sex condition that is deemed to give her an unfair advantage.”
